03 / ENCLOSURE WALL AND ENTRANCE TOWERS

The enclosure wall is roughly ellipsoidal, measuring about 270 metres along the North-South axis and 170 metres along the East-West axis. The access to the settlement was through two round tower-gates, projecting out of the South and North-west corners of the wall. The tower-gates, restored in the 1970s, have a small round room with two entrances facing one another. Moreover, along the wall there are some openings, interpreted as secondary entrances.
